FREE Initial Consultation
Wouldn't it be nice to get to know your counselor without getting out your credit card or checkbook?
Now you can. Clovis Counseling offers a FREE, 25-minute initial consultation by phone for new clients. This allows you to get a feel for your new counselor and make sure they're a good fit for you.
A one-hour session once a week is appropriate for most clients. However for some clients, more than one session a week may be recommended. For younger children, parent sessions are encouraged as well.
Note: In the counseling industry, each one-hour session is composed of 45-50 minutes of in-office counseling. For younger children, this may be comprised of a 15-minute parent consultation and a 30-minute counseling session.
Life is indeed full of surprises, and unfortunately some of them are difficult or unwanted.
So for existing clients, Clovis Counseling offers Phone Consultations, based on the availability of the counselor.
With Phone Consultations, the first 10 minutes are free, after which you may either schedule an appointment, or continue the phone consultation for a fee.

Should you decide to pay for service without using insurance, or if you do not have insurance, Clovis Counseling offers some fee reductions on a limited basis. Please contact us to discuss this and any other questions regarding fees or services.
For your convenience, Clovis Counseling accepts payment by check, cash, or credit card.
Clovis Counseling accepts several types of insurance on a limited basis. If your insurance is not currently accepted, we are happy to generate insurance-friendly receipts on a monthly basis for you to file with your insurance company.
However, before engaging our services we strongly recommend that you check with your insurance company to see what is covered and for how many sessions, and to see how much is reimbursed and what the deductible is.
Reimbursement by your insurance company is solely your responsibility. This includes the filing of claims and all communications with the insurance company.
Furthermore, even when you have coverage from your insurance provider, in some instances you may prefer not to use your insurance for services at all.
It is important to note that insurance companies often request information regarding treatment which you may prefer to remain confidential.
Better is an app that makes it simple for you to get paid back for out-of-network medical bills. This resource helps determine the details of your plan, what your deductible is, how much you will be reimbursed, etc. You can use Better to submit your claims for reimbursement. Rescheduling / Cancellation
Appointments can be rescheduled or canceled without charge up to 24 hours prior to session start.
Appointments canceled less than 24 hours prior to session start will be charged the full fee.
Missed appointments will be charged at full fee.
